Update on Merriman and Tequila

Shawne Merriman

Tila Tequila is Twittering that tomorrow she will be able to speak.   Why she could not speak about the incident today or Sunday is unknown to me.  She also Tweets that Steriod abuse can lead to aggression.

Tequila does not mention Merriman in either of these Tweets, but she still appears to be very angry.

Merriman is speaking out about the incident with Tequila.    Merriman is stating he did what he hopes anyone would do for a friend and that is to stop a friend from driving when they are intoxicated. Merriman also states there were witnesses in the home who can attest to this and states no charges were filed against him.  Tequila is allegeding that Merriman, slammed her on the ground and choked her.  Since Tequila made a citizens arrest, San Diego Police were required to take Merriman into custody.

 Tequila who alleges being restrained was able to call 911 and San Diego police are stating she was able to talk, walk and had no serious injuries that deputies saw.  

 Per SingonSanDiego.com Tequila’s New York-based attorney, Scott E. Leemon, released the following statement : “Due to the serious nature of this matter, and out of respect for all domestic violence victims and defendants, Ms. Nguyen(Tequila) and her representatives will not be publicly addressing the facts and circumstances of the incident.”

There will be more to follow I am sure, but this does not appear to be a Chris Brown – Rhianna incident.

 

I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided.

“We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms. Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California.

“There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department, and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers.”

Shawn Merriman, Tila Tequila Domestic Violence

Shawne Merriman has been arrested for choking and restraining Tila Tequila.

                                    According to the Seattlepi.com,  

   San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was reportedly arrested early Sunday morning for   allegedly chokingand restraining   his girlfriend.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Merriman’s girlfriend, Tila Tequila — the star of a former reality show on MTV, whose real name is Tila Nguyen — signed a citizen’s arrest complaint that charged the linebacker with battery and false imprisonment.

The paper also reported deputies went to Merriman’s home just before 4:00 a.m. in response to a disturbance call. Tequila reportedly told them she was choked, thrown to the ground and restrained by Merriman upon attempting to leave.

Merriman was reportedly released just after 11:00 a.m.

Per TMZ,  Merriman’s attorney states that Tila Tequila (Tila Nguyen) was intoxicated and attempted to leave Merriman’s home.   Merriman tried to stop her so she would not endanger herself.

Not to blow this off, because the allegations are serious.  Was Tequila his girlfriend or his jump off?
