It’s Boys night out on P. Diddy’s Starmaker

The contestants for P.Diddy's Starmaker. Picture compliments of MTV
Starmaker Girl’s Edition
Not as boring as last week, but I am not going to put it on my list of favorites yet. Starmaker is different to say the least. It is a dirty mix of an Urban American Idol and Diddy’s making the Band.
Good:
- Talent that performed well last week did not do as well this week and vice versa, the talent that performed poorly last week did well this week.
- Melody Angel is the cocky skateboarding singing chick who can actually sing, but she is waaaay too cocky. Her cockiness far exceeds her vocal ability. She needs to bring the arrogance down a peg or three.
The Bad:
- This week was girls only which means this show is going to take forever to get a winner. I guess next week will be the boys.
- Lori Ann does not want to be a dream killer and I appreciate that, but that muffin stuff is so phony! Whatever, keep it real and cut it quick. There is no reason to prolong a dream that has no foundation. The Dream doesn’t have to end, just tweaked.
- Why would anyone sing a Miley Cyrus song in professional audition? WTF? Marissa deserved to go home for her song selection.
The Reality – I am going to watch next week and probably the week after that, because I like DIDDY! Diddy is a genius. I am sure the winner will have their own Making the whatever show on MTV also with Diddy. I am also so sure I will tune in to watch that show also. Think about it, if I don’t watch Starmaker I will be behind on the winner of Starmakers’ next TV show. I don’t want to miss out! I know this is stupid, but it is my reality.
Diddy’s Star Maker
I am a Diddy fan, but I am growing tired of Diddy making bands out of unknowns. Bad Boy hasn’t had a justified star since the 90′s. Is Diddy in bed with MTV or is MTV programming light on Sunday’s?
The Good -
- Kimberly Caldwell is Hot!!!!!
- Big TY can sing! He has that true mellow R & B voice.
- Marissa. Her voice is good enough, with a certain inbred style mixed in with an “it” factor.
- The judges are keeping it real! Honesty is given, sometines it is even brutish. For example, Rodney Jerkins asked, “Why did you drop out of college?” My chin hit the floor.
- Diddy holds no bars, he keeps it real and Diddy appeared to be bored with the talent found for his show.
The Bad – The lack of enthusiasm and electricity that live entertainment shows like AI, SYTYCD and even America’s got talent brings.
The Reality – It’s a different show and good for a Sunday night. American Idol with an Urban feel.
